Instructor: Lori Connors
Participants will learn the basics of line, shadow, color and contrast; Seasoned sketchers can use this time to draw, undisturbed by the various outside demands and distractions that often keep adults from creating art. In this four-week class, you will learn (or get a refresher on) four techniques.
Sep. 6: How to effectively work with line to create imagery
Sep. 13: How to use light and shadow to create a dynamic illusion of 3D
Sep. 20: How to work with still life to develop an understanding of composition, layout, and textures
Sep. 27: How to work with a variety of dry media, such as pencils, graphite sticks, vine and compressed charcoal, as well as Conte’ crayon.
A $30 supply fee covers the cost of a basic drawing set, ample paper, and in-class use of color media (markers, pencils, pastels), if time permits. The class coordinator will provide instructions for fee payment before the first day of class.
