This course is for anyone with intermediate to advanced French reading and speaking abilities as well as appropriate command of French grammar. The class will read and discuss, in French, L’Etranger by Albert Camus, followed by Meursault, Contre-enquete by the Algerian author Kamel Daoud who received the prize Goncourt du premier roman (Goncourt prize for first novel) in 2014, and L’Enfant Noir by the Guinean author Camara Laye.
