Instructor: Tennent Lee
The German Ardennes Offensive was the largest land battle fought by the U.S. in World War II. This course will focus on the first 10 days of that battle. Although some of the inexperienced G.I.’s behaved badly during the early stages of the battle, the ultimate triumph lay with the American soldiers who displayed bravery, resiliency, and persistence. This course will be illustrated with contemporary photographs, as well as photographs made by the lecturer during a recent trip to the area.
