Elder Law is the legal specialty concerned with growing older and the transfer of property from one generation to the next. It encompasses estate planning topics like wills, trusts, and the probate process, as well as planning for contingencies through powers of attorney, healthcare directives, guardianships and conservatorships. The course will also cover Medicaid planning, social security benefits, veterans’ benefits, special needs planning, and senior living.
