This course will explore aviation pioneers during the period of 1927-1947. This “Golden Age” was dominated by single individuals who, through vision, courage, and skill, transformed aviation from a barnstorming curiosity to one of the great industries of the twentieth century. Each week the course will feature one of these larger-than-life individuals: Charles Lindbergh, Juan Tripp, Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post, “Jimmy” Doolittle, Howard Hughes, and others as time permits.

Since this class was cancelled due to COVID in a previous semester, the instructor will start again at the beginning so new participants will not miss an exciting moment.
