Yes, stars fell on Alabama…..as did many superstars. Nat King Cole, Hank Williams, Dinah Washington, Toni Tennille, Erskine Hawkins, Jim Nabors, Emmylou Harris and the Louvin Brothers were all born in Alabama as were some members of The Temptations, Dr. Hook, the Coasters, and the Oak Ridge Boys. And guess what! Three members of the group Alabama were born here. Jimmy Buffett, Tammy Wynette, Bobby Goldsboro and Lionel Hampton were not born in the state but spent a good part of their lives here. This class offers the opportunity to listen and enjoy these stars’ contributions to American Music.
