Viva la France (again)! This term we’re going to explore the Burgundy and Beaujolais regions of France. Burgundy wines are either Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. Beaujolais, at the very southern tip of Burgundy, makes a variety of wines from the Gamay grape (not just Nouveau!). The history of winemaking in this region dates from the time the Romans first explored the area. Then the Christian monks made huge strides in winemaking skills over the several hundred years they made wine here. Modern-day winemaking draws on this history plus huge pride in the region to produce some lovely wines and we’ll taste several with food pairings. Fee: $35. Max: 35

Also offered on Sept. 5, from 1:30 – 3:30 (see course description #28). Please
register for only one course.
