SUMMARY:35-31/Atlas
DESCRIPTION:Comet 31/ATLAS was discovered in November\, 2025. It appears to have come from outside our solar system. But\, it is a strange comet: it doesn’t act like any comet observed before. It changes direction independent of gravitational forces. It changes velocity independently of gravitational forces. It’s ‘tail’ is composed of elements in proportions uncommon to typical comets. Its outgassing jets are fixed in a 120 degree spacing and vary in their velocity output. So the question: is it just an object composed of rock and ice\, or is it a manufactured vehicle made by intelligent beings?

SUMMARY:36-Planning Your Vote
DESCRIPTION:The League of Women Voters will present a program entitled “Make a Voting Plan That Breaks Through Voting Barriers.” This presentation will guide participants through the practical steps of creating a personal voting plan: checking voter registration\, understanding absentee voting options\, confirming polling locations and election schedules\, researching candidates\, arranging transportation\, and ensuring proper voter identfication. In addition to outlining these steps\, the presentation will address the real-world barriers that can prevent many citizens from successfully voting. Special consideration will be given to challenges faced by voters with disabilities who encounter physical\, systemic\, and informational obstacles. Finally\, it will examine the hurdles faced by young voters\, including Alabama’s opt-in voter registration process\, the lack of auomatic voter registration or early voting\, and legal restrictions on assistance with absentee ballot applications. By combining practical planning tools with clear information about these barriers\, the League aims to empower more Alabamians to participate fully and confidently in the voting process.

SUMMARY:39-Mountain States Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Join Bob Goodwin and Sarah Parker on a 3\,000 mile car trip – with hikes – through the western states. Bob will present pictures of his travels with Sandra on a 17-day visit to Colorado\, Utah\, Arizona\, and New Mexico. The two visited 15 National Parks\, Monuments and other sites\, including the Arches\, Canyonlands\, Capitol Reef\, the Grand Canyon\, and Bryce Canyon National Parks; Canyon De Chelly National Monument and Monument Valley. They toured lesser known\, but interesting places such as the Colorado National Monument\, the Hopi Reservation\, Lees Ferry\, the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and many more. The two took 12 hikes and chose easy to moderate and “somewhat strenuous” hikes as opposed to more strenuous treks such as doing the Grand Canyon from rim-to-rim.
