The first exhibit, The Way We Were: American Paintings from the Lowe Collection, is a prominent Alabama collection focused on 19th and early 20th century painting in the American realist tradition. The exhibition includes accomplished landscapes and genre scenes by Carl William Peters, Martha Walter, Guy Wiggins, and many others. The second exhibit is Connections: Karen Graffeo | Jim Neel. This new series focuses on regional acclaimed contemporary artists from Birmingham, AL. with shared sensibilities. Their sculpture and photography examine and critique people and society displaced by poverty, discrimination and war.
