The wild riparian environment of the Goldsmith Schiffman Wildlife Sanctuary, populated with abundant and diverse plant and animal species, is one of the loveliest, most interesting and biodiverse wild areas in North Alabama. Just ten miles southeast of downtown Huntsville, the Sanctuary encompasses approximately four hundred acres of open bottomland meadows,
marshes, sloughs, streams, vernal pools and forests. This presentation offers an
opportunity to learn more about the natural history of the area, enjoy its beauty and reflect on the physical and psychological benefits gained from spending time in nature.
