Emily Saile will discuss her aunt Sarah Huff Fisk—local historian, author, and artist—and Sarah’s obsession with downtown Huntsville that resulted in the book, Civilization Comes to the Big Spring, Huntsville, Alabama 1823. She will discuss the extensive research involved in learning details of all the buildings surrounding the courthouse square, the detailed drawing that reflects her research, and how the book came to be written.
