This course presents a comparison of powerful women portrayed and examined in art over thousands of years. The subject is woman, the feminine gender as a subject in art, taboos, female rage, and blurred sexual lines in the most revered masterpieces. Participants will examine the paradox of femininity in figures such as Athena, Venus, Eve, and Mary, as well as lesser-known subjects.
