In this session we will be covering the southeastern regions of Rhone, Provence and Languedoc-Roussillon. The Mediterranean Sea greatly influences the wine grapes grown in these regions and we’ll discover the big red blends of the Rhone Valley, the fruity lighter wines of Provence made with Cinsaut, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Ugni Blanc. Then we’ll explore some of the Languedoc-Roussillon region where there are many bargains to be found. We’ll taste six wines during the session and provide proven food pairings that help us appreciate the wines even more. Under Kevin’s direction, participants will explore and talk about how the food affects the flavors (and enjoyment) of the wine and vice versa. Kevin will include some history of the regions and how winemaking styles differ. The course coordinator will provide instructions for payment prior to attendance
